Grading an Apps Performance to Increase Quality

A recent discussion thread on "UX Seal of Approval" prompted me to write about another example of how you should consider your company's "mental model" to fit UX into it's processes. The original discussion was to determine when and what needed to have a "UX Approval" before a project team could continue. Something that we tried at my company with not so great success (it might work for others but not us).
