I wonder if something like banner blindness happens here, too -- day in, day out I see the same browser chrome. Eventually, I start ignoring it, until I need to use something.

A case for lowering the cognitive load from Chrome. Image to compare 4 browsers, and how quickly the page is shown. Every millisecond counts. See how far the eye needs to travel to find the page in IE versus Chrome. Browsers screenshots from left to right (Chrome, Safari, Mozilla and IE).
